Description

These are the exact DXF files I designed and used for my own Sprinter 144 subfloor, cut from a standard 1/2" 4×8 plywood sheet. I’m sharing them here in the hope that they can save you time, material, and a bit of frustration on your own build.

Before making these myself, I purchased several digital subfloor designs that turned out to be untested and didn’t fit properly—which was pretty frustrating. That experience is a big reason I’m sharing these files. These designs were created, cut, and used in a real Sprinter build.
DXF Files (5 total):

Entire floor plan (combined layout reference)
Rear floor (tailgate section) – 1200 mm (47") wide
Middle floor section – 1200 mm (47") wide
Front filler strip – Option 1
Reaches the partition line, 1009 mm wide
Front filler strip – Option 2
Reaches the front seat base, 804 mm wide

Notes & Important Details

In the front floor section, the design intentionally includes an extra 700 mm of coverage over the door step. This works well for a common Sprinter layout where a kitchen cabinet is placed in this area. If this doesn’t match your build, you can simply trim off the extra material.

Both front filler strip options are included. You can choose the one that best fits your layout. In my own build, I used the filler strip that reaches the front seat base.

Around the front seat area, there may be small obstacles such as the seat base, seat edges, or mattress extensions, depending on your layout. Because of this, minor trimming may be needed to achieve a clean, proper fit. This is normal when fitting a subfloor to a specific van.

Every van build is a little different. Small adjustments after cutting are completely normal. For example, the thickness of any thermal or sound insulation around the wheel wells can affect the final fit.

The actual photo attached is a customized one which is not exactly the same as the digital files.

Compatibility

These files were designed and tested on a newer Sprinter (2019+). I can’t guarantee fitment for models made before 2019, as there may be dimensional differences. If you’re working on an older van, you’re welcome to try them, just knowing that some adjustments may be required.

Q: Are these physical templates or digital files?
A: 100% Digital. You are purchasing downloadable DXF files for CNC cutting. No physical items are shipped.

Q: What's included in the download?
A: You will receive 5 DXF files: A master layout, the rear floor, middle floor, and two front filler strip options, all pre-nested for a 4x8 sheet.

Q: Do I need a CNC machine to use these?
A: Yes. These are vector files specifically for CNC routers, lasers, or plasma cutters. They are not designed for printing as hand-tracing templates.

Q: Why are there two front filler strips?
A: For layout flexibility. Option 1 goes to a partition wall. Option 2 (used in the test build) goes to the front seat base. Choose based on your van's plan.

Q: Will these fit my van perfectly without any trimming?
A: They provide a perfect 95% fit. Final minor trimming for insulation thickness, wheel well liners, or van-specific details is a normal and necessary step in any professional build.

Q: Should I perform measurements before cutting?
A: Yes. Due to variations in insulation, framing, floor thickness, L-track positioning, and factory tolerances, every van is slightly different. It’s important to verify key dimensions and alignment before cutting, and make minor adjustments as needed for the best fit.

Q: Can I use these for a Sprinter 170 or an older model?
A: No. These are specifically engineered for the 2019+ Sprinter 144 wheelbase. The 170 is longer, and older models have different floor contours.

Q: What material and thickness are they designed for?
A: They are designed for standard 1/2-inch (approx. 12mm) plywood, optimized for a 4' x 8' sheet.
